Chimney cleaning:

Before the clean, the floor immediately in front of the fireplaces is protected. The Fireplace is then sealed.

Next, a suitably sized brush is passed through the chimney and out of the pot. This part of the chimney cleaning process is simply to remove debris.

After this, the soot and debris in the fireplace is removed aided by an industrial, HEPA filtered vacuum, supplied by Sturdy Vac – made in Brighton.

When all the soot is cleared, a smoke test is carried out.

Believe it or not, the biggest part of chimney cleaning is inspection – smoke tests, compliance checks, ventilation assessments etc.

There is never a mess – but public liability insurance in the millions is held, just for your peace of mind.

But why bother?

Chimney fires, caused by the ignition of soot can be catastrophic. And Carbon Monoxide poisoning caused by blocked or ill performing chimneys isn’t great either.

Coal, wood, oil and gas fires need their chimneys cleaning. Even disused chimneys can benefit from sweeping.
